Who we are
Music Teachers Association of Central Arkansas (MTACA) is a professional organization of musicians dedicated to promoting and advancing excellence in music education.
The purpose of MTACA is to support and actively encourage the study of music in the area. We continually increase our knowledge in music, upgrade our professional standards, and promote excellence in music through the latest teaching techniques.
We are affiliated with the Arkansas State Music Teachers Association (ASMTA) and the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA).
Our website address is: https://mtaca.org.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect on this website, how we use it, and the choices available to you under applicable United States law (including relevant state consumer privacy laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act / CPRA, where they apply).
Information we collect
Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:
- Contact and membership inquiries: name, email address, phone number, and the message you submit through website contact forms, plus any other fields shown on the form.
- Account information: if you register or log in (for example, as a site editor), the information in your WordPress user profile.
- Technical and security data: IP address, browser type, device/browser information, pages visited, referring URLs, and timestamps, typically collected through hosting logs, security tools, and analytics.
- Public directory and event content: information that MTACA volunteers or administrators publish on the site (described below).
Contact forms
When you submit a contact form on this website, we collect the information you enter so we can respond to your inquiry and administer MTACA programs. Form submissions are stored in our website systems and/or emailed to MTACA officers or designated volunteers who need them to reply.
We use this information only for the purpose of your request (and related association administration), unless you later ask us to use it for another purpose, such as membership follow-up. We do not sell contact-form information.
MTACA website features and plugins
MTACA Calendar. Our events calendar displays public event details such as title, date, time, location, optional notes, photos, and links. If you use “Add to calendar,” your device downloads an ICS calendar file containing that public event information. Location links may open Google Maps in a new window; Google’s own privacy policy then applies to that service. Calendar browsing may use temporary URL parameters (for example month or view) and may request calendar data from our website server; those requests can appear in ordinary server logs.
Find My Teacher. This is a voluntary public directory of participating teachers. Listings may include name, teaching subjects, region/ZIP, website, notes, and contact details provided for publication. Phone numbers and email addresses are not printed in the page source by default; a visitor must click to reveal them. To reduce automated scraping, reveal requests are rate-limited and may temporarily associate a request with an IP address. Teachers who no longer wish to appear should contact MTACA to request removal or updates.
Festivals & Competitions lists and Sponsors / Supporters. These sections publish organizational information such as names, descriptions, websites, logos, addresses, and contact details provided for public display. This is business/association information intended for members and the public.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

How long we retain your data
Contact-form submissions are retained as long as reasonably needed to respond to your request and for ordinary association recordkeeping, then deleted or archived according to our internal practices, unless a longer period is required for legal, security, or administrative reasons.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
